2.10 Drawing an Angle

Suppose you want to draw an angle TIN=30\angle TIN = 30^\circ.

Step-by-Step

  1. Draw a Ray: Draw a ray IN\overrightarrow{IN}. This will be one arm of the angle.
  2. Position Protractor: Place the center of the protractor on point II (the vertex) and align the baseline with ray IN\overrightarrow{IN}.
  3. Mark the Point: Find the 3030^\circ mark on the scale starting from 00^\circ (at NN). Mark a dot there and label it TT.
  4. Join the Line: Remove the protractor. Use a ruler to draw a line connecting II to TT.
  5. Label: You have now drawn TIN=30\angle TIN = 30^\circ.
