2.10 Drawing an Angle

Suppose you want to draw an angle $\angle TIN = 30^\circ$.

Step-by-Step

1. Draw a Ray: Draw a ray $\overrightarrow{IN}$. This will be one arm of the angle.
2. Position Protractor: Place the center of the protractor on point $I$ (the vertex) and align the baseline with ray $\overrightarrow{IN}$.
3. Mark the Point: Find the $30^\circ$ mark on the scale starting from $0^\circ$ (at $N$). Mark a dot there and label it $T$.
4. Join the Line: Remove the protractor. Use a ruler to draw a line connecting $I$ to $T$.
5. Label: You have now drawn $\angle TIN = 30^\circ$.
